New contract in China
Back in August 2014, COSCO Dalian revealed it had signed a contract to build four subsea support vessels for Maersk Supply Service, for a price of USD 470 million.
Later on Marin Teknikk, one of the leading offshore designers, announced that the vessels will be of the MT6027 design, and will be arranged for cable laying and umbilical installation, as well as cranes for subsea projects.
The four ships will be delivered successively during 2016 and 2017.
The sanitary discharge system
BLÜCHER has worked on this project since early 2015 with several meetings at the COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard Co., Ltd, ship owner and designer.
BLÜCHER has been chosen to supply stainless steel pipes and fittings for the four ships’ sanitary drainage system – for black and grey water. One of the key criteria for choosing BLÜCHER is the fast installation time for the BLÜCHER piping system. BLÜCHER’s sanitary discharge system is a non-combustible, light-weight and hygienic choice. Additionally, the system offers a long life time and can be recycled after use in line with the Maersk design principles.
